Would you like to be a class parent for your child’s class this year?  As a class parent you can support your class in many ways.  Fill out the form here if you didn’t hand in a paper one. Teachers, students, and other parents count on your help with tasks such as:

  1. Maintaining the class list and reminding other parents about special classroom events and special days at school, so that your class can make the most of them.
  2. Polling parents in your class to see what special talents and resources they can bring in to enhance the children’s learning.
  3. Reaching out to parents who speak languages other than English.

Most importantly, please talk to your child’s teacher to learn how you can help.

Please note: if you sign up to be a class parent, your contact info will be shared with the teachers and other class parents from your child’s grade so that you can connect with each other.

Thank you for your participation and support!

Are you interested in working on PS 99’s policies?  Please nominate yourself for the PS 99 SLT by Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Voting will take place at the PA’s General Meeting on Thursday, September 22, 2016

[Update 9/30/2016: nominations are closed and the members have been elected.]

Here is a quick summary below, but to find out more about what SLTs do, please check out the NYC Dept. of Education Website:

The School Leadership Team (SLT) provides a structure for school-based decision making and the development of a collaborative school culture. The SLT members develop educational policies for their school and align resources to those policies. SLTs provide ongoing evaluations and assessments of a school’s educational programs and their affect on student achievement. The SLT in each school is composed of an equal number of parents and staff and  must meet at least once a month.

The SLT Resources Page has links to:

  • the new SLT Toolkit (in pdf form for download),
  • webinars,
  • the SLT brochure, and
  • a SLT Roles and Responsibilities Powerpoint

These resources are designed  for all SLT members and can be used as a group or by individual members.
