The PA will host its first general meeting of the school year. We will be introducing this year’s PA Executive Board, our functions throughout the year, as well as selecting School Leadership Team members.

Parents and Guardians are invited to nominate themselves for an SLT position. The PA requires parent representatives to attend administrative meetings to ensure the development and implementation of 99’s mission and goals.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend this first meeting to get situated for the year. We look forward to welcoming back returning parents, and look forward to meeting new ones!

Light refreshments will be served. Childcare for school-aged children will be available.

About the School Leadership Team (SLT):

What is a School Leadership Team?

A School Leadership Team (SLT) is a group consisting of all the constituencies that make up our school:

The Principal/Assistant Principals
A PA Co-President
A United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Chapter Leader
Parents
Staff

What are the responsibilities of SLT?

SLTs meet once a month to determine and structure school-based planning and shared decision-making. An SLT’s core responsibility is to develop a school-based plan aligned with the Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP) as put forth by the Department of Education.

The CEP includes goals and strategies of the school for the year. SLTs work to fine-tune these goals and strategies to further its mission with the focus of positively impacting student achievement.

The SLT works to ensure full representation of all constituencies, and to ensure that all students are actively engaged in learning experiences that address their individual learning styles and academic needs.

What is the time commitment to be an SLT member?

The SLT meets on the third Monday of every month during the school year at the Main Building Library from 4:30-6:30pm. SLT members are reimbursed for their time. Reimbursement for 30 hours of service is $300. The SLT position is a two-year commitment.

The SLT meeting dates are as follows:

September 23, 2019
October 21, 2019
November 18, 2019
December 16, 2019
January 13, 2020
February 10, 2020
March 16, 2020
