PA Bake Sale! We need your help!

Bake SaleThe PA will host a bake sale during Parent-Teacher Conferences and we need your help! 

SEEKING DONATIONS & VOLUNTEERS!

We are seeking donations of nut-free baked goods, individually wrapped snacks, juice boxes, and bottled water.

Store bought pre-packaged donations can be delivered to either building from now until March 14th at drop-off/dismissal. Fresh baked homemade items can be delivered to either building on March 14th. Due to allergy concerns, if you donate homemade baked goods, please provide a list of ingredients. Please label “PA Bake Sale,” and leave with security.

We also need volunteers for the Bake Sale!

You’ll be receiving a take home flier for the bake sale. Please fill out and return by March 12th.

Alternately, you can email us at ps99queens.pa@gmail.com if you’d like to either donate or volunteer your time!  Just send us a note with the following:

Earlier in the month, National Association of Elementary School Principals President, Eric Cardwell visited with Principal Foglio as part of his #PrincipalRoadTrip to learn how more access to the arts offers measurable benefits for our students. We’re so proud to have such a strong tradition of arts programs here!

Teachers’ Workshop for Parents: March 7, 2019

WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW DETAILS OF YOUR CHILD’S CLASS CURRICULUM?

QuestionsPS 99 teachers will host an educational workshop for parents. The workshop will provide an in-depth overview of your child’s class curriculum, and give parents the opportunity to understand it before their upcoming parent teacher conferences.

Please join us so that you can have a better understanding of your child’s school day. To RSVP, just fill out and return the slip that was sent home to your child this week. Hope to see you there!

Special guest Sonia Rueda, District 28 Family Leadership Coordinator will be on hand to give us guidance on how we can better support and enrich our children’s education through the Parents’ Association.

Community News: 

With your vote, members of the community preservation coalition of Kew Gardens can update us on the city’s big plan to build a jail down the block, and what our neighbors are doing to protect the community.

Annual College & Career Day – January 23

college&careerdayThe school will be hosting its annual College & Career Day on Wednesday, January 23rd. Parents and guardians are invited to visit with their child’s class to discuss their jobs. (You should have received a sheet to fill out if you are interested. If not, contact your child’s teacher.) We look forward to your participation in expanding the children’s knowledge of career possibilities!

WINTERFEST TICKETS ON SALE TODAY & TOMORROW

Winterfest in the Annex lobby from 7:50 – 9:00am. The PA will be selling tickets only on these two dates. Tickets are first come first served. $3 per person. If you have children in multiple grades, please choose one party to attend as a family.

(Due to space limitations we have a one adult per family policy. We also ask that you only bring children who attend PS99 for this reason. Thank you for your understanding. See you on December 7th!)

Find out how you can make this milestone year special for your 6th or 2nd grade child.
JUST IN CASE PROJECT: CELEBRATING THE DIVERSITY OF THE PS99 FAMILIES
Parent and photographer, Valerie Zimmer will discuss a very special photo project that “will spotlight the diverse immigrant families of the PS99 community and the possessions they’ve carried with them through their immigration journeys and beyond.”
 
Do you have an object from your home country that you hold dear? Would you like to share your experience?
 
Zimmer is seeking immigration stories to celebrate PS99’s diverse student body for our World Fest Week on February 4-8.
