IT’S BACK! The LIC YMCA will hosting its 14thannual LIC YMCA Free Youth Soccer League!

WHAT IS IT

  • A free summer youth soccer league, co-ed divisions, all made possible by Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer
  • 5 game minimum regular season, everyone makes the playoffs
  • Everyone makes the teams but league will be capped at 120 players! First come first serve basis of registration
  • Free for ages 7-17, different age divisions
  • Operating from end of June-August
  • All games are held at Queensbridge Park

  • There are no practices only games!

HOW TO JOIN

  • Attend one of the two skill assessments, assessments are used to help us make all of the teams competitively balanced, skill assessments are 15-25 minutes max

    SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES (YOU MUST ATTEND ONE):
    Friday 6.15.18 from 5pm-8pm
    Saturday 6.16.18 from 9am12pm

  • All skill assessments are held at Queensbridge Park

  • VOLUNTEER COACHES, REFEREES, & THERAPISTS
  • FEMALE PLAYERS
    many of our free leagues have a majority of boys involved.
    Let’s make sure some girls and young women are also involved this summer!

PA General Meeting: Thursday, May 16

Remind

REMINDER: The PA General Meeting will take place tomorrow at the Main Building Auditorium from 6:00-8:00pm. The Board will be having an information session and hold an election for new executive members for the 2018/2019 school year. We encourage all parents to attend and vote! Light refreshments will be served. Baby sitting is available for school aged children.

ABOUT THE PA: 
The PS 99 Parents’ Association is a volunteer-run organization whose aim is to facilitate parental participation, and provide support to teachers and staff with tools to help enrich our children’s education. We serve to act as a voice for families, and build a sense of community among parents and educators. The PA Executive Board is made up of, (and is elected by) parents of children currently enrolled at 99.

Happy #ChildrensBookWeek! This weeklong celebration is almost 100 years old, and it’s no mystery why: Who doesn’t love the magic of literature?! Stories play a vital role in the development of children, and can boost confidence. Empower your child by giving them a book to read!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held on May 7-9 (Annex) and May 21-23 (Main Building), offering a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. And all purchases benefit our school!

The book fair is mainly for the children. Parents visiting during Parent Teacher Conference on May 23rd may also participate. (or parents: cash or credit card is accepted.) Students visiting the book fair can pay cash.

P.S. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Help students discover the power of reading and volunteer for the book fair! We need a couple of helping hands for the book fair dates. If you can spare a few hours on any of the book fair dates, please contact us!

We need people for 8:00am-11:00am and 11:00am-1:00pm for all dates, and 4:00pm-7:00pm for Parent Teacher Conference on May 23. Just email us and let us know your time/date preference!
